My main research interest is on the increasing adoption of artificial intelligence and related technologies within our communication environment, and within communication research. This includes:

  • Investigating the antecedents and consequences of the deployment of conversational agents by organizations in their relationship with stakeholders in the broader sense (e.g., companies using chatbots for webcare or branding, media organisations using bots for news)
  • Exploring the patterns of communication and perceptions about interactions with non-human entities (e.g., virtual assistants, conversational agents)

Along the same lines, I am particularly interested in the latest developments of computational social science, and in the implementation of large-scale data collection and analysis for communication research. Moreover, I also have been working in the past years on the usage of social media by organizations, stakeholders and (traditional) news media.
